She's just Sarah...It is what is!

Today, Friday October 22, 2010, I got to shake Sarah Palin's hand. Why would I want to talk about it since I have always been a person that is not that easily impressed by one's celebrity status for celebrities usually are not what they appear to be.

I have been intrigued by Sarah Palin well before John McCain picked her as his VP. I followed Adam Brinkley's www.PalinforVP.com to discover that she wasn't your usual run of the mill politician that wants a title but does little else. She got into PTA not because she wanted to but rather to simply try to make a difference for her young family. This simple decision to get involved and to try to make a difference has turned her into national figure both loved and hated by millions of people.

One of the best pieces written is " Who is Sarah Palin " by Rebecca A. Mansour posted at www.conservatives4palin.com. RAM brings you into Sarah's world where a father teaches his children to have " discipline and fortitude, as well as love of the outdoors and to be self-reliant -- in hunting, fishing and sports." She also clarifies many misconceptions while giving thoughtful insight into Sarah Palin.

Family members and others have described her as shy and reserved growing up. This particular point I noticed as Sarah first entered the walk way cleared for her to ascend to the podium. She clutched her baby son Trig and had look of reservation about entering this narrow passage way with so many on lookers trying to get a glimpse , a picture or even a touch . I could only imagine what is going through her mind in regards to her protecting her son. As she passes and greets that magnetic smile appears and you begin to see the transformation of the personality that is about to take the stage. Her confidence is now in full bloom as she works the crowd in the rope line like a pro. Once on stage she begins with her " Do you love your freedom?"
which gets the crowd fired up. Fired up they remain.

What I found amazing is that this whole time she has held on to Trig even though there was a baby stroller, she never once gave that child to anyone. She gave the speech, she shook hands, she signed autographs all the while carry Trig in one arm. Remember Trig is now almost three years old and has some weight to him. I thought to myself can you imagine Barrack Obama trying to do this?

Once off stage all the local politicians along with the local press begin to surround her and the questions and answer sessions begins. In watching her response I got glimpses of the reservations but she manages to keep the smile and not show any sign of annoyance that everyone wants to keep her there while she so wants to bring her child back to the bus. As she was passing the girl next to me managed to get her Going Rogue Book out for an autograph and I wanted to speak to her, but I simpley stuck out my hand and she shook it but by now the reservation was back on her face and her only concern was getting Trig back to the bus.

I have to mention this little tidbit that I also noticed. Remember the hoopla about the cloths that the media tried to make. The little grey sweater that she is wearing on the cover of her new Book " America by the Heart", she was wearing that today. A cloths diva would not be caught dead wearing something so recognizable. Sarah has made her Red Blazer a staple of her campaign stops. She has style but she is not obsessed with cloths.

The title of this piece "She's just Sarah and it is what it is " comes from the executive producer Mark Burnett of TLC's" Sarah Palin's Alaska". He closes an interview with those words. I thought them to be a proper compliment to this woman. He understood that Sarah Palin is her own woman, with her own mind and her own way of doing things. she is genuine and real. There are no airs about her and what you see is what you get.

If she were to run for POTUS does anyone believe that she would be your typical machine candidate that does and says what his handlers want him to say and do? Her track record definitely shows what we can expect from her. She has a real problem with politicians that blatantly have " Conflicts of Interests" and a sense of entitlements for being in office. They simply forget who they are working for. She believes in fiscal responsibility and is always aware that it is the peoples money not big government's. She has developed a spine of steel and will fight back whenever she or her positions and principles are under seize by the media or the opposing party. Political correctness has no hold on this woman, she tells it like it is. What this country needs the most is the breaking up of the Good Old Boys Club in Washington DC and she cut her teeth in breaking Alaska's. We the people will love seeing that!

Open Letter to Sarah

This week that has passed as far as symbolism has been a very good week for you and your family. Bristol is making quite an impression on DWTS and you have been given an indirect yet powerful boost in your standing as leader of the change that is coming. Senator Tune by stating that his decision to run for POTUS is contingent with your decision to run or not has shown that you are the leader that has emerged.

As a follower of yours since Adam Brinkley started Sarah for VP website, you have always distinguished yourself by avoiding the normal and safe paths to achieve your goals. You have shown that you will tackle any situation head on and not worry about personal consequences. You've got a strong family that is not swayed by the mean spirited attempts to undermine you and yours solely for the purpose of winning a political advantage. You are tough and determined.

My reason for writing this letter is to go back in immediate history to point out mistakes that have allowed presidential administrations be defined by. Jimmy Carter's public malaise through his tenure. His arrogant mismanagement of the economy brought us to levels only seen in third world countries. Ronald Reagan provided a blue print to follow in restoring a failed economy but he to failed to reign in government spending. For every new dollar that the government took in revenue he allowed the congress to spend $1.80. Thus forever giving the opposition the ruse that he increased the deficit during his tenure. George Bush I given the reigns of the longest period of economic growth and a popularity rating in the 90% range placed to much priority in foreign involvement and not enough on domestic issues. He was not a believer in trickle down economics and willingly broke his pledge for no new taxes which was the beginning of the dismantling the Reagan years. Bill Clinton mistakenly took his election as a mandate to take the country to the left of center and to make this country like Europe with it's socialist form of government. 1994 showed that the people of the United States would have none of that and gave the republicans control of congress and the purse strings in over 40 years of democratic dominance. Bill Clinton was wise enough to realize that he needed to move right of center and proclaim that the era of bog government was over just allowing him to be reelected even though he was impeached in the House of Representatives. George Bush II had the potential to be regarded as a great president in history, yet he allowed his advisers to change his image from a" cowboy" to a "compassionate conservative". George Bush II lost his presidency when he allowed the media to paint the Abeu Grab prisoner treatment as more horrific than the beheading of US citizens or the burned bodies hanging from a bridge overpass . Carl Rove made the biggest miscalculation of the Bush years by not responding to this. Barrack Obama has so misread his hope and change message that he has placed himself in the peoples eyes as Jimmy Carter II.

The public is in such a state of fear and lack of direction in the economy that 30 days from now the largest change in political history could take place. If it does happen, will it be politics as usual or will real change in government begin to take hold. " The Pledge " from the Republicans is a band aid on a severe wound. The Government has become so large that it will take every dime that every individual earns and it still would not be enough to cub its appetite. The control of the money that is our tax dollars must be taken away from the federal government and be given back to each individual states. Neil Bortz's " Fair Tax " would be a great way to put the Federal Government on a diet that it could live with and we the people could control how much we pay in taxes.

Sarah, as the leader of this wave of change you need to call in your markers and get a commitment from the new freshman class to have the " Fair Tax" legislation that has been buried these many years brought up discussed and voted upon. It requires that we are looking at real change and not lip service that we are so use to.

Sarah, your Face Book Posting would be a great start.
